April Musky
« on: April 11, 2012, 10:29:39 PM »
Fished for Crappie with my brother and Jazzi this weekend.  A high pressure front and rapid rising lake killed the bite that my brother swore was amazing the day before.  My brother's friend Dave later joined us and we decided to hit a high country lake in Virginia to salvage the day.  My brother casted for crappies and whitebass, while Dave and I threw for muskie.  Spent the whole afternoon telling Dave all about these fish, and how amazing the boatside grabs can be.

Just about the quitting hour, this nice fish appears boatside and strikes on the figure 8 where we all could witness the chaos unfold.

I took a fang in my thumb when I hoisted the fish up, but it was a battle scar I'm proud of.  It's funny, I have about 4 pairs of gloves in the boat, but I didn't think to grab them once the fish was unhooked.  Beautiful fish measured 44 1/2"

Dave lives right on a musky river in NC.  Now he's ready for me to come down so we can fish for them there.

Get that hand healed up for this weekend Travis. We will be expecting you to play some trashy songs at the campfire.
Wherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be.

But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.

She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all.

She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.
