Interesting. How wide is the Towee at the transom?

I had my first up-close look at one recently, and the transom didn't look much wider than the LT-25 Gheenoe.

But I know David Darnell tried to put a jet on an LT-25 and it didn't work - he was told the Gheenoe doesn't have enough transom for a jet to work.

This makes me wonder.

BD,  I wasn't told, was the first to try it, paid lots stupid tax. Gheenoe hull shape and transom,  it was something like 42" at water

According to the website the LT25 has a 44 inch transom. The Towee specs don't list transom width but its beam is 52" at the widest point (4 inches narrower than the LT25) and it looks to me like the transom on the Towee is a little narrower than the beam width at the center.  So at most, I would say the difference in transom width is 4 to 6 inches.

Is that really enough of a difference to make a jet drive completely stop working?  I wonder if it's possible that your jet was just set up in a way that adversely affected performance?

Pure speculation on my part but I'm having a tough time imagining that a couple inches of transom on each side makes the difference between a boat that gives excellent performance with a jet drive versus one where a jet won't function at all.

JMO, but it is the keel on gheenoes that don't allow a smooth flow of water into the jet that caused issues.
