75m to the nearest blueberry bush. 0.5 mi from the AT. 1.2 miles from a New trib with brookies, 1.8 miles from a James trib with brookies. Three good if slightly institutionalized squares a day. Six rod tubes in the back seat of the car. Eight miles down the hill to muskies (and smallmouth). Nine tabula rasas with fish on the brain... 11.3 miles to Palisades pizzas. 18 hop-tacular beverages chilling in the cooler. It's going to be a good four weeks.

The beer made it four days. Multiple resupply trips off the mountain have kept things running smoothly. ;)  I've been scrambling too much trying to keep up with the students to get out and do much non-class stuff, but it's been great so far.

Not quite a 50, but still fun.


Found an old beaver pond that has an easy 12 in it, but this little guy got to the fly first and the big one spooked. I'll be back.


Oh, and the hiking and scenery has been just awful, too.


The only down side is that the blueberries have another month or so to go.

Awesome start man!  The lower river is so nice and clear, so I'm sure watching that muskie strike and fight was a blast.  Gorgeous Brookie as well.  Dad and I thought about calling you last Friday, but we were all over the place fishing the upper and lower river.  Saw several NICE fish btw Narrows and Rich Creek.  Give me a shout and I'll lead you to them....but looks like you're already doing fine.
May be up that way around July 13 if you're still up that way.
