THIS is the camera I've been looking for!
Took the camera out to test the AF. It's supposed to be the best in the business. Well I can't speak for the Nikon's but as far as I can tell this is a better system then my 1D and that's saying something!
This won't be impressive unless you've tried to get bird in flight shots with small birds. The Af picks these birds out and locks on them amazingly fast and accurate.
This is an example of the AF picking this small fast moving bird out and locking onto it.

Very heavy crop. Not am impressive pic it's must meant to show that it found the bird in all that sky and focused on it.
A larger subject.
Not my best but I shot this from my bike when these two flushed out of the woods as we approached. The mockingbirds really hate Hawks. You really have to wonder how many have met their fate by getting too close or not paying close enough attention to where they are. After watching them torment the Hawks for hours I know they are high on the Hawks enemy list.
A fast AF doesn't override the basic settings.
I got carried away and thought the camera was just going to do it all for me.
