You can cut the wings off but then I would pluck them, wash them in a light bleach solution and freeze them in a zip lock. After being frozen, you need to zap them in the microwave to kill any bugs.

Be sure to put them in the freezer for a few days to kill off any mites. You can infect your entire feather collection if not. At least that's what I've always been told.
