I found it, or at least a portion of it, that's for sure...
I've had my eye on this river for quite some time. I have Google-map'd the hell out of it, to the point where I felt like I had been there before once we were on the water today. Difficult access, but beautiful water and fish that seemed to have never seen a fly before. They were super aggressive. My best fish was a 17" smallie, and we had several just below that. My fishing partner lost a bomber fish that would have been a trophy fish and the fish of the day. There are some BIG fish in this water...
Fred's "Blood Minnow" and a Crawfish Streamer were the flies of the day. I lost Fred's fly when a nice smallie ran me under a submerged log and snapped me off. To add insult to injury, he made a "fly-by" about 2 minutes later with the fly still in his mouth...
I shall return.
