The Tellico Hatchery
« on: December 05, 2012, 08:58:56 AM »
The Tellico Hatchery crew completed brook trout spawning yesterday. The eggs from the Oct. 17 spawning have now eyed up and should be hatching soon. All eggs collected look good and expectations are high for a large hatch.

Brook trout eggs from the October 17th spawning have begun hatching. These newly hatched brook trout are called sac fry. They will be nourished by the yolk sac until they begin feeding in a few weeks.
