So here I am in Memphis, ready to pick up a boat that is not here. It's my own fault. If I had just signed up for the factory spec boat, I would have picked it up in Charlotte 2 months ago on a Galvanized EZ Loader.
Instead, I had to order a Salt-proof lighter aluminum trailer, and modify the bow and transom brackets to accept a long, heavy trolling motor and a jet cavitation plate. The welding in California is the hiccup that's holding up the show.
Meanwhile, smallies, stripers, and walleyes are frolicking in the shallow waters I can't reach with the SeaArk.
The bad news: my boat is still a couple weeks from being ready, the composite rails we planned for trailer bunks didn't work, and I still don't have an outboard yet.
The good news: I got an excellent custom aluminum trailer that just needs bunk slicks, and I got a chance to FINALLY see the prototype boat. This thing is surprisingly lightweight, and looks tough as nails...even has a little soft flex and rebound like a kayak.
Now, just waiting for her arrival to Charlotte, so I can take her home.
