Lost rod on Elk 4/6/13
« on: April 16, 2013, 04:32:14 PM »
I lost a 4 piece Sage XP 9' 5 wt on the Elk River Saturday, April 6 between 1/2 and 3/4 way down between the dam and Farris Creek Bridge. It had a Ross Rhythem reel on it. Outfit has lots of sentimental value. Willing to pay a reward for anyone finding it.

Did you see it sink and/or could you find the area where you lost it? I might be able to do a snorkel search for it if you have a specific pool or area that you think it might still be in.

They've run some heavy flows in the early AM hours, it's probably been pushed to the deep pool at the bend or further.

That's quite a bit of water, can you be more specific, was it above or below the small bridge at generals island? i might be able to run you up there with my jet boat.

I am embarassed to say that it was sticking up in the back of my canoe and somewhere along the way it must have hung a limb and flipped out. I discovered it missing at the small bridge at the island. I waded back up a fairly long way and did not find it. I was just hoping someone may have followed and seen it in the water. It came out after lunch and lunch was at a point (don't know a landmark) about 1/2 way between the A-frame and the small bridge at the island.
