Big Buffalo on the fly.

Hooked a Buffalo while Striper fishing with my 7wt that had to be close to 30 pounds. I fought it for what seemed like an eternity thinking I had finally caught one if them VW size catfish that have eluded me for many years. I was alone and had to handline the leader and ended up losing the fish. I got to see it and touch the leader but he made a run and my very $$ rod was in jeopardy so I let him break me. The best fight on a fly rod to date! He had that rod which is an extremely fast taper 7wt almost doubled.

Shad pattern fly.

Alas, all the evil of the twentieth century is possible everywhere on earth. Yet, I have not given up all hope that human beings and nations may be able, in spite of all, to learn from the experience of other people without having to go through it personally. The Gulag Archipelago 1918–1956
