Orvis Boo for sale
« on: May 01, 2007, 10:12:50 PM »
Just doing a little spring cleaning and found this......

It is a 7' medium spinning rod, was built in 1965 and is in near new condition. Aside from a little soiling on the grip it is in perfect shape. It will cast a 5wt line like it was made for it. I actually inquired to Orvis about sending it back and having it converted to a Fly/Spin combo with the snake eyes and fly tip top, they said they would be happy to do it for $175, and I said thank you for your time!!!

I will take $175 for it

now that is a sweet little stick for sure.  The can be converted quite easily but whoever does it needs to expect to spend a lot of time on the wraps.  that finish that Orvis uses on the wraps is some good stuff and most people generally cut the boo taking it off.  Neat thing about it is that it is impregnated and bringing it back up to a high quality level is pretty easy.
