That makes the work worth it Travis. Those red fish darting around after each other in that clear water was so awesome. All this time I was starting to think, damn, these fish must camouflage well because after several tries to locate them,, I can't. I began to wonder if somehow all two images I've seen were somehow blown out of proportion and these were actually tiny little fish that would be easy to miss as you work upstream. Then, there they were in BRIGHT RED flashes against a black bottom. I watched them for quite awhile.
It's a hard time to find them, lots of gas, hours behind the wheel, trekking through woods and water, dodging bear scat and hornets nests. I still say it's worth it if you've never seen them.
I tried to get this nest but it was still a little bit too warm. I think I could have gotten it no problem but I wasn't 100% and I was in no mood to be stung anymore this year.
