This past Sunday,
Jay, my Grandpa Bill, and I decided to drive around Home and take in the sights of Fall.  Once again, I have come to realize that I haven't even scratched the surface in exploring the treasures that abound in this small corner of Appalachia.

That's a nice bald you found or is that part of a park?

Are those falls trout water?

She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.

That first bald is Beauty Spot ...just a couple miles uphill from my house.  That's where I proposed to Crystal.  The 2nd overlook is Unaka mtn----a few more miles along the same forest road.

The falls are Red Fork falls, and that's the first time I found them...it's unmarked along the same road.  Several locals have lost their lives when they slip at the top and slide down a 40ft vertical ledge.  Kinda makes you nervous to walk up to it.
I betcha there's some Brookies there.  I'll definitely try it next Spring.
