Spent a couple days poking around the upper Piney.
« on: February 09, 2014, 09:16:37 AM »
Ran up to Musky country this past weekend. The Piney was running a bit high, a kinda stained. We launched The Towee and started to drift down, I had a grab from a nice 30 something fish in the first 10 min of float! But I "trout set" on it and blew it!! >:( We were really excited though because we had little expectation for early morning. we continued to float with no action most of the day, and we were getting discouraged. As anyone knows that fishes with me, I drink WAY to much coffee, and I have the bladder of a forty year old pregnant woman!! (I have to pee often) Wouldn't you know it Chris hooks a fish while I'm pissing off the back of the boat!! Of course it came unbuttoned before I could finish... we then decided to run as far up as we could go on the upper, I just want to say that if I wasn't impressed with my Towee before...... I am now in Love with this boat!! We went to "where the Trout live"!! and then floated back through some 'FISHY" looking water, but no luck.  so much for a Musky on day one....

Day two the Yiman came up to meet me. we looked at the lower Piney, but it was still to stained, so we went back to the  upper Piney!!!! We launched the boat and I immediately went looking for the fish I lost the day before, nothing doing!
we floated through some beautiful water, a little snow, and very cold fingers with no luck.

And then finally my line gets tight!!! A nice 30 something fish to the net!

And a feisty release!!

we continued to float for a while, with no action, until all of a sudden a nice fish takes a swipe at my fly boatside while i was stripping my fly in, I started my figure 8 and she was following hot!! She ate i STRIP set HARD and my line went heavy....and then she was gone!!!  ??? ??? :'( That's Musky fishing!!) Can't wait to go back!!
Great fishing with you Chris and JR.
Oh yeah can't forget the "I got a Musky today trophy"!!!

YUM!!!
See y'all at F3t tomorrow!! (Still looking for an extra ticket)

Good to get out with you Eric.

I need to head home thru Manchester to get in on one of those sammies!!!  Looks tasty.

I am 0/3 for the last times out. 0/3 meaning I haven't even got a follow for three outings - do these fish even exist on my side of the boat?  I don't know...

When the suckers run I can get a couple dozen and we could have some payback if you want.

But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.

She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all.

She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.

I might get to that point, Mike.  I'll keep that revenge in my back pocket. Hah!
