It's an Eastern Bluebird.
Wherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be.

But she goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy.

She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all.

She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.

I agree with Steve 100%. You going to try to hit the warbler migration? They should be starting to come through any day now...

No I haven't. I'll check it out.

Momma Bluebird getting the nest ready.

A Tree Swallow. You don't see these guys sitting still outside the nest that often. The depth of field on the 300 2.8 up close is razor thin. I've gota start remembering that.... The Eye looks good though.  ;D

Another Carolina Chickadee. These birds are about the size of a thumb and their attention span can be measured in nano seconds.

I hunted and stalked this Northern Harrier for three days. This is the best I got and they are from a good 100 yards... These birds see reeeaaal good, fly real fast and erratic.

He hears a mouse, vole, or Meadowlark.

Locates said prey and goes in for the kill!

Game over!

Another angle on the Short Eared Owl.

And the Amazing colors, patterns, and lines, on this Tom.

I was up walking the woods too early and woke this Doe up. She should be glad I wasn't a hungry Bear.

Awesome sunset in Cades Cove. I hiked alot of miles off trail in the Cove last weekend. Learned alot about the wildlife that inhabit the place. I also met a photog that I'll call the Bear man of Cades Cove. We hit it off right off the bat. I think its safe to say we'll be doing some Bear trips in the coming months. Should be exciting!
