Easter weekend fishing

Ahhh Spring, Morrells are popping up, and stripers are blasting the surface.  I love fishing this time of year.

Thanks guys....

Went back for more stripers yesterday, but they had moved out.  I hopped in my canoe and chased schools of busting hybrids.  Right about dark it started getting silly.  Had about 5 fish in 5 casts.  They were all very fat, exploding the surface just like the big stripers.  I got a little nervous wet wading, schools of giant carp were all around my feet in the dark.

Have you had any success with them on a fly?

Early AM in the fog would be prime for the fly....that's just what's brother did he same morning I got the hybrids.  My challenge is usually a 2 hour window, and extremely boat and wade shy fish in shallow water.  Most of my strikes and blowups are on 200 ft casts, and every time I get the canoe near the breaking fish, they spook.  With the stealth of low light, you could make it happen.  Jay landed about 8 fish and snapped his 7wt on one.
These schooling hybrids range from 5 all the way up to 20 lbs and they're cruising in 4ft of water.
