Whitewater 101
« on: April 28, 2014, 08:41:43 PM »
I tried to get Yoda to fish off something smaller than his Towee on Sunday. It didn't go so well. Scrapes, bruises, kayak drags, slippery boulders, possibly some cussin' and a busted 12wt. The high point of the day was running a bit of fun water that nearly washed me off my SUP (Yoda's high point might have been the drive home!). It was awesome, I almost dragged my SUP back up and ran it again. Yoda thought better of it; I think the vultures were waiting for his portage to go terribly, terribly wrong…

Sadly, no fishes were harmed in the taking of this photograph.

Yoda should have known better from his first canoeing adventure with you a couple years back.  Wonder what that run will look like tomorrow?

How about paddles?  Did he run that with a broken paddle?

Eric was pretty animated when he was telling me about the rapids

There was one  injury...... my ego!!! I am definitely not a Musky kayak fisherman!!! There is no doubt Dr Dave has a much  larger set of Balls than I !!!! That picture does those rapids absolutely no justice at all!!!!  Dave also failed to mention the two vultures sitting on the rock waiting for HIM at the bottom!!;-)

Yoda, man, you just need to try it again under better circumstances! There's a heck of a lot of water that your Coosa can open up to you, including a few cricks that I KNOW you'd absolutely love.

Btw, the vultures are visible on the left of the photo; one clearly looking across the river at you. ;)

Cosa and whitewater---I have flipped twice in that situation.  Now the Jackson SUP whitewater board, no pressure no problem.
