March rains
« on: March 02, 2015, 08:19:05 AM »
February has sucked for a whole host of reasons. I'm quite happy to have it behind me.

Yoda and I hit some Plateau water yesterday. We met a couple guys from MI at the ramp that had fished the past three days without so much as a follow, so our expectations were pretty low… and the "afternoon" drizzle started almost as soon as we got the boat in the water.

Despite the rain, and jumping a bit when ice formations and rocks came loose from overhanging cliff faces  :o, water clarity was perfect.

It paid off. One in the boat and a few more that should have been -- gotta get better about filing hooks more frequently!

Also broke out a new lunchtime beer -- Ballast Point's Dorado double IPA. Pretty dang good. If you see it, get some.

All in all, not a bad day on the water.

Good times Dave!! It seems the second shift of the Yankee crew was rolling in as we were rolling out... Willen called me as I was pulling out of the launch. He was just rolling in for a two week stay!! He's looking for someone to fish with today... Call me if you don't have his number.

Good job guys, Way to get out there and catch a nice one!
I've been waiting for my chance now that the thaw has past.  Hoping to dodge some flood waters and chase after a fattened winter fish before they start getting frisky and migrating out of the winter holes.  Hopefully, I'll get a little Dave/Yoda Musky Mojo in my boat.  If I can find some clear water, this full moon should be prime time.  Next two weekends are windows for me.

Yoda, don't look so sad...Sometimes you don't always have to be in your Towee.

Naw, he'd just had a fish (the fish) come unstuck.
