Heritage Disappearing

Am i the only one that thinks people are being childish by removing Confederate flags & memorbila on account of the past??

While i do not condone what it meant for the most part, i still think it's part of our past & should be a reminder of how far we've come since then.


Seriously, what's your thought's, why does my Heritage have to be put in jeorady on account of one stupid white boy that the system let slip through the cracks.

Should we protest & destroy towns to get world wide attention?

This is not the first attack on our Heritage but it very well maybe the tipping point of having our Heritage stripped from us. For the first time in our history we have a populous that will give up their rights freedoms and even history because it may offend a small group of people. As a society we have turned into a bunch of pansies that have no backbone.

I've been discussing this at work for the past few days. It is bordering on the ridiculous. The pandering of the leftist media that the confederate flag created this issue is complete bullshit.

The thought of removing the statue of Nathan Bedford Forrest from the TN state capital to appease some group. SERIOUSLY!

The media is fueling these fires and laughing at us. This is not an issue with a flag, this is an issue with people and removing a flag is not going to resolve it. If we forget were we came from, we will go there again.

We live in a society today where people are afraid of their own shadows, police officers fear for their lives when confronted by an eight pound family pet on the side of I-40 or mine and yours yard & kill them for that reason of fear. Best but not last everyone demands an apology when they are offended -? Get a life people let the water run off your back-don't p___ on my back and tell me it's raining out either !

Funny that you post the pic with the lady in the bikini.  Did ya'll read about how ACME Feed and Seed (which apparently is not a feed and seed, its more of a fancy restaurant/bar kind of place) was being boycotted because of a piece of artwork hanging there that featured a picture of a nice young lady wearing a similar bikini.  They have since removed the painting - the artist's feedback can be read here:

Oh - and apparently apple (the phone people, not the fruit) has pulled Civil War era games from it's app store if they feature a confederate flag...you can't make this stuff up.  How the hell are they going to tell which side is which?

Flash forward to the next local re-enactment when both sides are waving the same flag...or are they just going to make up a new one for the Confederates?  Put a bunch of flowers on it so nobody gets offended...but then I guess you run the risk of offending those with seasonal allergies...

MTSU is now "revisiting" the naming of Forrest Hall which is the home of the University's ROTC program.

Sorry for the rambling post...I promise I haven't been drinking (yet). But I guess this is my way of saying yes, I agree with ya'll...and it's just the tip of the iceberg.

 Your "heritage" that you are so proud of, and wish to retain, is based on denying the rights enshrined in the Declaration of Independence, and the US Constitution. The Confederacy of which you are so proud was based on the proposition that the black man was not the equal of the white man, and that his natural state was subjugation to the white master race. The wealth of the South was built on the backs of an enslaved people, and justified by the Christian church. And since blacks were considered to be sub-human, there were no limits to the cruelties that could be imposed on them ...... and justified as for their own good.
 Even after the defeat of the confederacy, racism, discrimination and hate has been endemic. The birth of the KKK (whose proudest symbol is that of your beloved flag), segregation, discrimination, Jim Crow laws .... let's not forget lynchings and burning burning blacks alive - or perhaps you have not seen those photographs, with the symbol of your heritage proudly and prominently displayed ?
 Why should it be necessary to explain why that flag is a symbol of slavery, oppression, and racial violence  ... but hey, that's your heritage. If you want to fly that flag on your front lawn, or your house, or on your car or clothing, that is certainly your right to do so.
For that same flag to fly or be displayed at a government building is just plain wrong.  Tell me, do you see Nazi flags flying at German government buildings ?  No, and for exactly the same reasons that the Confederate flag should not be a part of any US government building.
 Again ..... no one is trying to take away your right to display your heritage on private property or on your clothing. But for government to be seen as approving the actions of the Confederacy, and condoning the slavery and oppression it prized, is wrong. Read the history books .... the south lost, slavery is a bad idea. Not a difficult concept. If you want to be proud of your heritage, you need to find something in your heritage that does not negate everything the US stands for.

You do realize that African slavery started long before America, correct?

And it is Heritage and History, should not be flushed or forgotten to some pandering, babbling idiots who believe this is going to cure the ills of stupidity.
