We're headed to Joe Wheeler for the weekend with my wife's family.  Anyone familiar with the area or have any tips...I'm open to fishing tips, food tips, beer drinking tips, especially the latter if the fishing's no good?  Our cabin at the State Park will have bank fishing/dock, but I'll also have my Gheenoe in tow.

Had a really nice weekend on the lake with the family.  TOUGH fishing...but found a few that were willing to play for about an hour Friday evening.  Had one of Sam's spineless minnows tied on and hooked up on my 2nd or 3rd cast under some trees that were covered up in mayflies, but I set the hook WAY too hard and lost him.  Tied a popper on and caught 7 or 8 bluegill, broke off another good size bass right at the boat.  A few casts later and was finally able to land this guy before the bite turned off again:
