3/15/06 Mona Report.
« on: March 16, 2006, 10:22:59 AM »
I fished Mona after work yesterday for a few hours. The river was rolling and pretty muddy. We ventured upstream but it was still muddy up there to. Water temp was 58 so the time is near and had the water been clear I have no doubt we could have done some damage. Conditions being what they were we got zeroed. Nothing, nada, not even a smell. I was throwing a clouser on my 7wt with shooting head and David B was casting Minnow type plugs and jigs. Later we both switched to jigs hoping to find some Crappie. It just wasn't meant to be. Maybe next time! :'(

Thanks for the report, Mike.

I fished Walter Hill area last Sunday, as well as Fall Creek all from the bank. Couldn't find any crappie. Did catch a couple of small bass over at Nice Mill late in the day on plastics.

They could be up there any time now.

Yesterday, I was at the bottom. I was at the bottom of a valley, in the river. Then my eyes hiked up the mountains to the snow capped peaks. I thought, "When I am at this lowest place I can be, standing in a river, everything is looking up."

If we don't get flooded again they should be there and eating once the water clears. This rain almost certainly will bring them upstream.
