Up Nawth.
« on: December 01, 2016, 09:22:09 AM »
Headed north for Turkey Day, spent some time with family and ate way too much. Mixed bag. I blanked on the few critters I’d hoped to photo for work. Hoped to grouse hunt, but decided to fish instead -- flushed two grouse walking to the stream. I didn’t expect the cold snap that immediately preceded my visit, but still found some semi-open water, and fish.

Walked to the river for an hour while the turkey was in the oven. Only got one to play, but was a good un.

Went further north to look for potadromous fishies. Water was high on the bigger rivers, but I found some.

Wasn’t as much fun without Mike pissing and moaning about how cold it was…  :-*

I had to detour through SW VA on the way home to retrieve a wayward SUP, so I stopped by an old river for a couple hours. Had a couple follows but the clear water and cold front had them unwilling to eat.

Time to get serious about toothy critters.

A massive cold front moved in, right at the same time you arrived? No way! That never happens! Beautiful pics and fishes. I'm cold just looking at them.
There is not much collective security in a flock of sheep on the way to the butcher.

Ya just have to start using a chunk of anchor chain as a leader. Gets your flies down QUICK, too!
