So, about a month and a half ago I picked up 3 Sage X sticks.  I got a 9' 3wt, a 9' 4wt and a 9'6" 5wt.  I own a couple of One's, 2 Z-axis and 3 XP's as well.  This is by far the biggest jump in rod technology I have seen from Sage (from the One to the X).  It's like throwing a lightening bolt that drips with butter.  When I let people use them, almost everyone starts out casting them too hard.  They do not require half the "mustard" that most rods do to get the same amount of line speed.

The 4 wt throws a 24' 150 grain sink tip like it was made for it.  4wt's and sink tips don't always end up in the same sentence.  A client of mine bought the 9' 5wt.  His first day out with it we threw a 200 grain sink tip on it in the am while streamer fishing in falling water.  In the afternoon he fished midges, and didn't bust any fish off.  I know that $900 sticks are not for everybody, but these things are incredibly versatile.  They are very light in the hand... but may result in you being light in the wallet!  If y'all get the chance to fish one, I would highly recommend trying it out.

Thanks for the review Phil. That price tag is just nasty, I hope you are getting a guide price.
