Well, the water receded just enough to give it a try yesterday on one of my favorite MI smallmouth rivers. Visibility was about a foot and a half...just enough to give the fish a shot at spotting the flashy flies a buddy and I threw at them. This is one of those floats where we always end up rowing out at the end of the day so we don't get our trucks locked in the park when it closes at dusk. It pains me to row by some of the best water..ugh. We've decided that the next time we're going to slip our toons in at the halfway mark.
While we didn't catch any monsters, we wore out the rest which ranged from 11 - 17 inches.
