First float of the year
« on: March 23, 2009, 08:39:38 PM »
We've had an early spring this year after a pretty mild winter. I've been getting the itch to spend some time behind the oars and decided to go down to the gunnison area to fish some new water and maybe do a float. We ended up floating the gunnison river and got into a few bows.

A couple of pics.....

Good looking fish Adam, congrats!

SWEET!!

Yesterday, I was at the bottom. I was at the bottom of a valley, in the river. Then my eyes hiked up the mountains to the snow capped peaks. I thought, "When I am at this lowest place I can be, standing in a river, everything is looking up."

With the snowmelt starting, I figured all you Colorado guys would be floating the Blue River and casting to the pet trout at the Dow Jones Ranch.   ;D ;D ;D

I've been watching those flows and as soon as they bump, i'm there. Hell, my fishing buddy is buying a raft for just that reason. That spot is pretty local to me.
