How to post pics?
« on: May 18, 2010, 08:00:09 AM »
How do you post full page pics, that look clear but are still large when viewed?  All my originals are at least 3mb.  when I go to photoshop and change resolution they get tiny.  Any easy way to resize and post?  Also can I erase one of my own posts or replies?  Thanks

Best way to do it is to host the image on one of the free hosting plans like photobucket. From there you can copy the url and past it here. Once you get that set up and you still can't get it working holler again.

Thanks Mike.  Does it automatically adjust the image size?  Is there a way to get the pic to show in the post rather than a link to Flickr?

Ok next what you need to do is using your mouse highlight the url http://www.flickr.com/photos/36287339@N04/4618153065/ and click the image icon above. It looks like this. That will place the brackets around the url and it will display as a pic once you post it. You have to do that for each image.

Sorry Mike,
I must be an idiot...I went to modify, hi lighted the link, clicked the image, and got the brackets, but now in the post it just shows two question marks instead of the pics...thanks for your help.

Hmm those urls don't work if you paste them into the browser either. Not sure what the deal is there I don't use Flickr. I dissected the link a little bit and found some nice images. Are you a photog?

I haven't logged into Flickr today...not sure what that's about?!  Yes I have been photographing, nature mostly, for a little over a decade.  Do some weddings and such from time to time.  I'll try to log in again- they were working URL's yesterday

I don't know- the links work, but when I use the icon it doesn't
