Might not be fishing as much again this year... We are putting an offer on a 14 acre farm on the Smith Fork River and the seller is pretty sure she’ll accept… It’s a 1880 built farm home that is going to need a lot of blood sweat and more sweat. Included are several acres with river frontage and two nice Barns. If it all goes well, when it’s done we will have an amazing place, and one hell of a place to hold the next gathering. Wish me luck guys! I’m gonna need it!

Woohoo! If you're gonna get sidetracked, that's a good way to do it!
-
Good luck brother!!! I hope it all works out!!
-
Sounds like a great way to be sidetracked! Fingers crossed.
-
Enjoy!

I've been side tracked for years, good luck Mike.

Hope the deal comes together for you. If you need a tractor I know a guy.

That is a nice area of the state!

Brady you are gonna love this place! Rich in history, views like a resort, and modern amenities. One of the barns, the one that will likely be taken down, is planked on the inside with 1X12X12 rough cut WALNUT! WALNUT!
They accepted my offer yesterday. Still a few hurdles to go through.

Hey Pal! we've spent a few days trudging around in this place. I remember thinking how cool it would be to own a place here.
-
That does look like a great place to spend time....
-
Umm, sure hope you're going to save that walnut for something other than barn use... ;)
The older buildings at the field station that I teach at are made of wormy American chestnut. Most of the property was standing dead chestnuts when the university purchased it. Talk about things that kind of make you want to cry...

The wood from all the buildings and there are several will all be salvaged. The walnut would make some awesome floors. I don't know that I'd recognize the chestnut. There could be some here.

Looks like a great place Mike! Can't wait to check it out and harass some of your smallies.
Smallmouth, Deer, and Turkeys---sounds like a retirement spot to settle in the countryside.
Hope the dealings and new home projects go smooth.
When it gets too hot to do the outside stuff...we need to go striper fishing.
-
I was hoping you got on that area. Buy some in the wildflower next.
-
Looks like an awesome project!
-
Congrats Mike, looks like an awesome property!
-
Have always wanted to fish that.
How far is that from where you and I waded in a few years back?
