, but it is my understanding (limited) that boat registrations fees (partially) go towards cleaning up gas from marinas. Since non-powered boats don't use gas, they don't need to pay boat registration. Electric only boats are the ones that get screwed.
Launch passes are used at some state ramps (like PA) but I doubt anything will be done on the Caney.
What really needs to be done is a capacity study. Then set reasonable limits based on the carrying capacity; For example--so many commercial rentals, so many private kayak/canoes, so many drift boats etc. It should also be done per hour, or restrict launch times (commercial launch only for 9-11 am or something). Once limit is hit, no more for the day.
