Weekend of Smallmouth.
« on: June 01, 2013, 09:52:27 PM »
Blown out Tailwater everywhere so I headed west today to a new river on a hunch and boy did it pay off. One for the books for sure. Below is a sampling of todays catch.

The LM were mostly all on bed still

The Smallmouth were out and they were starving almost all the fish were sight fished and caught!

Took some time to smell the flowers

Even the little guys gotta eat.

Heron spear

The baddest fly fishing plastic money can buy.

More Brown fish

The guardian of the river. Place was CRAWLING with these. I had to fight them off with a paddle several times. They were all at least 6' long with 4" fangs.

Few Rockbass for the hell of it. While I was resting a spooked Smallie I'd pick on these guys.

Then back to Smallies.

Notice the Brown bag in the front? It was FULL of Hen of the woods. I ate that for supper instead of fish...  ;D

Then back to Rockbass

Yep they even hit on top.

Guarding the nest with a vengeance.

Had a great time, and I'll be back!
