Got there early enough Friday to set up camp & fish 6 hours, checked out some brookie water, no brookies, only bows. It started a light shower & the bite was on.
I slipped off one rock & set down in water up to my chest, refeshing to say the least, shivered the rest of the evening, then i tripped, fell 2' right on my left side & arm, scraped leg bad & still can't lift my arm all the way up :-[
We went down lower & caught a lot more before it got to dark to see the flies.
Saturday, my bro-n-law & another friend hiked in 4 1/2 miles to brookie water, all bows >:(, evidently, someone is screwing the stream up >:( I fished some tamer water with a couple other guys, caught my fair share of wild bows again.
Sunday, break camp, the other's head out & bro=n-law and i go fish for several hours to trick some more bows.
Still sore & need to download some pics, we ate good, got up with cramps at night & had a blast. We'd sit around at breakfast & complain about what kept us up at night, getting older sucks, but we're planning for the next torture test  :D

Sounds like a good time Grumpy! Yes, getting older sucks as healing takes longer.

Glad that fall wasn't worse!

...and bummers on the bows, at least where they shouldn't be.

Brother and I were in the GSMNP most of the week.  We didn't get any rain...wish we had.  Fish were extra spooky on the low, clear water.  We caught mostly rainbows until we went up high near NewFound Gap.  Caught several nice brookies but couldn't manage the slam.

No browns on this trip either despite catching them in the past, water level was still pretty good, i wouldn't have like it if it were any lower.
