White Bass part 10.

BD and I headed out in search of White Bass this morning. I wanted to go farther up the river to case out a smallmouth section or two. It was pretty slow up there with plenty of gar but not many Smallies. As we floated down BD hooked this nice Smallie on a spoon and has he was fighting it a larger one tried to take the spoon away. I dropped a lure in front of that fish and within a few figure 8's and twitches he was on! It was a team effort so BD and I posed with both fish. This will be one of those fishing memories I'll remember for a long time. That's a big Smallmouth BTW.












This little guy was busing a small school of bait and I was able to connivence  him to eat as well. Love the visible eats!


One nice Carp that may or may not have been snagged by a clouser... Hey,, he was looking at the fly cause it hooked him just behind the eye! :D


FINALLY!!! I gota tell ya though these fish were picky. Even after we found them I tried to get them on a fly but they wouldn't hear of it. Throw a spinner in the same spot and fish after fish. Fly,,, nothing... I put the fly rod down and commenced to whuppin up on them for being dicks and not eating my flies.

They made for a great supper too. Not the Smallies though, they lived.

That's one nice smallie there. Looks you guys had a great trip.

I got me a small outboard finally for my polarkraft this weekend (picked one up from TK) and can't wait to hit some new water.
