My favorite kind of fishing...

...is for the smallmouth...at least until late fall & winter... :)

Haven't been able to time the Noli very well this year at all; it's been a finicky little b.tch - finally starting to see some clearer water in which the 'Suspender' is a lot of fun to fish.

Nice fish!  I was just thinking that I need to put that river on my list of places to hit.  Looks good.

Nice!

About this 'Suspender'... Do tell.

I've been playing around with Lee Haskin's 'Neutralizer' patterns, and I like both the idea and that pattern in particular a lot... particularly when they're upsized and on 6/0s. ;)

J4 and Kyle, solid work on the smallies. They have been my fish of choice this year for sure.

A video and some pics of a fish I got yesterday...low water made it possible to wade way out on a ledge and fish an eddy - awesome seeing the black figure emerge from the boulder & hit the fly!

Thought I would try smallie fishing one last time this year.  Waded for a couple of hours below the campground.  Didn't have much luck except for this pretty one.

End of mater season too...

Had one nice musky follow on Saturday; tried to jump-start it by speeding up the retrieve...it did surge forward but I think the fly was too high in the water and it wised up.
