Fall Creek Falls
« on: April 28, 2018, 10:40:48 PM »
Hey guys we’re meeting some friends and camping in Fall Creek Falls soon.  What do you recommend for good hikes and maybe some paddleboard fishing that’s worthwhile?

I fished it many years ago, and remember some decent smallmouth in the creeks on poppers. Don’t remember much success in the lake.  Just figured you guys would have more time that way.
Thanks in advance.

We went last weekend and the bass were still in pre spawn and the trees still had not leafed out. Caught a good number of bass on blue and black Keitech 4 inch swim baits in 8-10 feet of water.  Crank baits did ok as well. Afternoon bite was best for us due to cool temps. Upper lake was not as productive as lower lake, but fish are probably up shallow by now. Lake was clear and Cane Creek was too high for wade fishing.
For best hike, check out the Wheeler Farm Loop. This was added a few years ago and is a minutes outside the park and will be a great way to avoid the crowds.

Find the bluegill beds. Usually 15 to 20 ft down.  Insane if you find em.
There is not much collective security in a flock of sheep on the way to the butcher.
