Title: clearwater, fl fishing
Post by: icthus on September 02, 2007, 04:06:36 PM
Got up Sat. morning to take Grace out on the flats for the first time and I was welcomed by mother nature with, lightning and sheets of rain so I oppted to go back to sleep and wade out  in a couple of hours.  The first two hours prooved less then productive because of the dolphin swimming around, but the last hour I missed three and hooked one small trout.

Went out last night in the boats for some snook and reds around dock lights and it was on fire.  Caught two reds, one being 24"', 15-20 good size torout, and I had one snook.  AAAHHHHHHHHH, OH CRAPPPPPPPPPPPP, YEAAAHHHHHHH, put  the trolling motor in reverse, but the snook was still pulling me in the dock).    I started letting out line and he got into the docks and my hook pulled.  It makes me mad that he got off because I did not tie a good knot, but wow what a fish.  He gave my 9 weight all it wanted.  What a night.

I love vacation,

Just got back with Pop's and did not have the numbers, but landed two snook tonight one being 30" about 16 lbs and the other being about 20"s.  Mixed in a couple trout, no reds, but a good time over all.  Cant beat fishing with your dad thats for sure.

Blessings

Went out this morning and spooked a school of reds cruising the grass, and then tricked a couple sea trout.  Went home to clean out the boat and run the engine to get the salt out and the rope breaks.  Thankfully, I was on dry land!!!!  Fifty dollars later to get new line, and loaded (spring crapped out too) I was back in business.  I was running on three and a half hours of sleep from fishing the night before, getting up at 5 to do it again, and my mom ask I would take her out again.  Well, tonight we ended up with two reds, one being 18 inches and the other being around twelve, thirty or so trout ranging from caney size t0 24". gator trout is what they call them

We head to one lighted dock 36" snook chasing bait and Iwas stoked, right fly everything.  Threw it the first time, looked at it turned to chase live bait.  Second cast, on the dock.  Two lights later my mom almost gets spooled before the snook shook its head and cut the line.

I love the salt,

All I have to say is, "I am working my way through medical school, I dont plan on doing this all my life, thank you for the tip".  I bet we could bumb off my parents for a month or so.  You can take the guest room and I'll take my old room.  Well stand on the corner at a gas station like they do on murfreesboro rd and look for work when the tide is not moving.

Don't forget the work you could pick up as the working girls on Dickerson Rd do!  Wait --- but not likely anybody would stop (well maybe a Congressman or two)  --  bad idea!!  As whats her name sings - Don't shave your legs for that -- or something like that!  The gas station corner would be a better idea!!
