I have the chance to buy either a 6hp Johnson, or 7.5 Sears Gamefisher in excellent condition. (cheap)
How do you think these would push my Classic?
-
Bout half as good as a 15 horse. ;D
I thought you were selling the SS Elk River Liner?
-
I'd sell it but ain't giving it away. I looked at a 16" Super yesterday, nice boat but not $2000 nicer than a Classic.
-
Go with the Johnson, i had an older Sears(nightmare) years ago, couldn't find parts for it anywhere.

Dave you might want to look at this site, I dont know if you have bought a motor or not but if you havent this is a good site - http://www.smalloutboards.com/

Has anybody ever seen this? http://www.brokeboats.com/
This guy, Wayne Weber, has a marine motor shop somewhere in New England, I think. He provides FREE advice to whoever wants to turn a wrench on their own motor. He helped me out several years ago, and it looks like the site has gained popularity. He still provides the free service, but is now offering unlimited "Express Support" where he bumps you up in the queue fo $9 for 30 days.
Obviously, he's a super nice guy, and even if you don't use his service (free or paid), there's a wealth of information on this site.
