Title: Davy Wooten's wet fly ways DVD.
Post by: MikeA on July 06, 2008, 08:09:19 PM
I get bored easily but I think this might keep me occupied for a little while longer. It’s an old style of fly fishing revisited and Davy does a great job of explaining exactly how it works and how to best utilize the technique. He tells all about the knots and mends and drifts, not to mention some of the most beautiful flies you'll ever carry in a fly box. There’s a multitude of helpful tips, tricks, and information, in this one and I wouldn't expect any less from such a well traveled fisherman. Pick it up if you get the chance.

Ray Bergman's "Trout" book has an excellent chapter on that subject as well.

I'd like to find a book with some patterns. Trout Flies has a few but not the really pretty ones.

I could loan you my copy of "Trout". There are a few hundred of the old pretty patterns illustrated and notes on their history. My favorite is the cow dung pattern. Let me know...
