Title: Elk River News?
Post by: roberts618 on October 09, 2008, 08:37:12 AM
It seems like this section has gone silent.  No news in almost a month.

Any news from the Elk River?  Where have all the fishermen and fisherwomen gone?

I was up at the dam last Friday, I was on vacation last weekend, talking about a Zoo, I was the 18th person I could see at the bridge, I was just wanting to try out a line I've had a while and hadn't cast, plus was wondering about the human population on Friday as compared to Monday-Thursday.

I am so glad I work weekends ;D

I wet waded and caught a few.

No fishing this week, my little man has been out on fall break, getting caught up on Dr and Dentist appts.

Next week, I offered to tile my parents bathroom. So fishing will be little to none.

Week after that, I know of two days already that are planned, generation, boats, 300gr sinking lines, eight weights and big gaudy streamers. :o

College football on Saturdays has severely cut into our trips to the Elk! We had some friends that went up on a Sunday a couple of weeks back and had a great day. I am looking forward to getting back up there soon.  Are they generating at all???

Football and Golf, sure wish more people took to those two sports ;D

they ran water yesterday for an hour, running tomorrow morning for an hour just before daylight.

Lake is full, by law they can dump the lake starting on the 15th and I was over it today, it's full, so get ready for water, but has to be lots of rain for them to run water on you weekend fisherpersons.

bookmark these two if you don't have them.

I DO love college football, but I could miss some games to be able to fish the Elk on Saturdays.  My husband is not nearly as flexible on the subject though! He's an Alabama fan(bless his heart) and they haven't had a good season for a while so he is glued to the TV!
Thanks for the info on the generation. I'm hoping that is clearing up some of the funk on the bottom! Maybe we will meet on the river one day!!

Thanks for the updates.  I am glad to read that they have to start releasing water again.

I hope to be back down that way in about 10 days.  Haven't seen the Elk River in about six months and looking forward to fishing it again.

Ralph,

do you have any boo rods say maybe 7 foot longer? I took an all day Spey casting lesson from Dec Hogan last Sunday. Talk about a man that can cast a rod :o and one of the nicest people you will ever meet.
