Title: Ever see one of these on the Caney
Post by: David L. Darnell on March 04, 2009, 10:33:20 PM
always thought they were a useful boat. Never touched one until I stopped and looked at this one, might be heavy for my 25hp jet, somewhere around 635lb. Price is right.

Never been around one. Where is that one?

A few years ago I read the Florida Sportsman board quite a bit.  Back then there was a chance we would move to Florida when we got old so I was trying to learn a little about the place. Lot's of those boats down there.

Are those supposed to be unsinkable?

Oh, and no, we aren't going to move to Florida. We done got old and we're still here.

I kinda like this model, seems pretty practical for the Caney and could go on big water as well

Still made from glass and glass and rocks don't get along that well...just the same it is a nice boat

A buddy of mine has the D17.  Great boat that will run some skinny water but it will knock your fillings loose in some chop.  For the price I think it is a great boat.  Not really for rivers in low water though.

It isn't made for what you want to do with it. Not a Caney boat IMO.

I know it's not, I just like utility quality designed boats. First one I ever saw and I didn't walk across the parking lot to look at it was in Goose Creek,SC. My oldest son was a Navy Corpsman stationed at Charleston Naval Hosp. his neighbor was a Navy Chief and would take his 16' out so far that 3 times while Chris was there (2 1/2) years he had to call and get a big boat to come out and get him out of the gulf stream water. Chris said he was a trip, I never got to meet him.
