Title: Drop-Shot for Trout?

The other day I seen a video from some guys fishin the White using what they were calling a drop-shot rig on fly rod. They said it was a relatively new technique for trout.

Can some one clear this up for me on how it is executed? I know how to drop-shot for bass but can't quite picture it on a fly rod.

Never heard of such a thing.  My purely speculative, uneducated guess would be that they're doing something similar to czech nymphing?   ???

Might require some more research. Good video, just wish the guy would stop slapping the mic with his finger.

Big Horn high water technique is to take a 6 oz bell sinker and put it on ""ought" x tippet...run some droppers with big nymphs and some with little nymphs off that main leader but on 12 inch tippets of 4x ...this was invesnted by guides to use when BHwater was totaly unfishbale from high discharges  but the guides  realy needed the $400 a day to survive and the clients were there and wanted to fish, so why not....anyway it is a fly rod equivalent of a drop shot as you put this bell sinker on the bottom and lift and drop it , like jigging, in foot long vertical pulls....take a lot of beer.
