Title: Confused!
Post by: breaux on May 20, 2009, 03:16:05 PM
I will state that i am merely a novice to tailwater fishing in TN.  I saw that there was a post from a week ago about the Elk not fishing well for awhile due to the release of water from the spillway.  So what has been the impact?  Is the Elk still supporting trout and worth fishing?  If not what is my next option for wading?  It seems like the Caney Fork will not be wadable for awhile and i never hear much good coming from the Duck, so is the Elk work the trip or should i just wait fro awhile?

Thanks for any help or advice!

The Elk is fishing ok.  The water is clear and you should be able to catch a lot of fish, however at the dam don't expect much size to the Brown Trout but you may run across a Skipjack or 2.
The Rainbows in the Duck are twice the size of the Browns in the Elk but not in the numbers.
