Taken with the 70-400mm G last night, cropped 100%. 1.4 and 2x Tele Converter sure would be cool... I think I could show you guys the American flag on the moon if I had them.

Great shot, Mike. You can see some serious details.
If the generation weren't so messed up right now...that awesome moon would cast a perfect glare for some gooooood fishin'. I'm hoping to get out there with the other creatures of the night real soon.

NICE, you reckon all those dark spots are from the bomb they blasted it with :o

No that's just a little mold on the Cheeese!

I'm surprised that the heat from the Earth and the light from Nashville didn't make it more difficult to capture. Could you see the heat distortion, Mike?

Nice shot Mike, that big lens makes it nice to get the full effect of what you were seeing. I was trying to capture the moon and it's relection off of the clouds that were around it and that was incredibly hard to do. I could either get the clouds and a big bright spot, or the just the moon with more definition. So far noone has told me how to get both in the shame shot!!

Lots of difference in that 70-400G and the 70-300 Sony. Teleconverter would be awesome....
Have you done any shots with a reflex lens?

I seen that on the way home last night and knew some one would take advantage of it.
Nice shot Mike.

Thanks guys I liked it too.

What you are trying to capture is tough. You have a very bright object surrounded by dark objects. Moon-scapes are a pain BIG TIME!
Tripod if you don't have one already.
Use the timer.
Shoot manual mode and don't shoot it wide open, I shot that one at F18 1/1000
Keep at it!
