The Elk was under extreme pressure with the beautiful weather. Jack H and I were below the dam on Friday which seemed to be 'retirees' day on the river. There were a few young fishers there playing hookey from work though.
I went to Farris Creek Bridge on Sunday and got there about 10:15 am to see five or six vehicles in the parking lot. Got in the water at about 10:30 am and put on a green size 14 soft hackle because I did not have a clue what to use.
I was rewarded about 5 minutes later with a nice 18" brown trout. The biggest trout I had caught in several years. I must have hit the trout right in the face with the fly because I cannot image a trout that big chasing a fly that small. Sometimes is better to be lucky than good. :)

Hey Tom, sounds like I missed some nice fishing.

I'd take luck over skill any day. (Of course I have to, I don't have any skill ::)) Good report sounds like you and Jack had a good day!!
