Earlier this month my wife and I went to Cozumel to do some relaxin, and of course I was able to wet a hook for a day. I fished in this same place a couple of years ago with a guide, Alex Euan. So I decided to it again. $300 for a saltwater trip where the guide even feeds you lunch... not bad at all.
It was almost identical to my trip into the lagoons last time. I caught 9 bones this time around. Last time I caught a few less, but had a big one. Most of the fish this time around were about the same size.

Bonefish don't always look impressive for how much fun they are. It just doesn't seem like a fish that size should be able to make runs on your reel that fast and that far. At any rate- It was a lot of fun. If you ever find yourself in the area vacationing, I highly recommend the bonefishin.

Man, you are killing me. I am contemplating heading to the Bahamas, and these kind of reports is going to push me over the edge I'm afraid. Thanks Phil and Craig.

What the heck are you doing posting if you are down there? Go get a couple of fish cut them up throw them out on a line chum up some shark and stick some. Get off the computer and live.
Drink some rum go to sleep and do it again, and again, and again, for six days,
Wishing I was there, ( Andros that is)

Maybe to much rum.... Weather has turned windy 25 mph out of the north for the rest of the trip. If the tourist don't show up soon this whole island will be fore sale cheap. There are very few people here. Not that it's a bad thing but, grand island is bill out as a family kinda place. H20 guys are great and the bones are good size and in good numbers but, no bacon, eggs and a lot of the eating joints are closed down and not just for the season. When you get off of pelican bay hotel grounds this place looks like Detroit with a real nice beach! The more I travel the more I feel like we southern folk are blessed by the lord above. Big stripers/trout in Tn, big reds in La and trapon/bones/perms/reds Fl. God bless the US! They ant even got a dang waffle house over here.. Lol! Sorry about hijacking the thread. Jarrod if you want big fish from the 3rd world I am sure we could talk mike into another trip to hopedale. ;D

Same here Todd. I'll stay in the US and fish for what we have here. I've been to the “tropical paradise” a few times and tropical ghetto would have been a better description. Hard to beat the southern US for fishing.
