I need all the prayers I can get for my son. He was put in Intensive care last night and is not doing very well at all. He was diagnosed with double pneumonia and has severe infection that has spread into his bloodstream. The doctor said it was very serious and that the prognosis is about 50/50 at this point. I know the unified prayer can help get him through this.
Thanks
LD

Thanks to all of you guys, I really appreciate the prayers, Lord knows we still need them
He isn't completely out of the woods yet but good news on his progress. White blood cell count is on the decrease and he is haveing a posivite reaction to the medications He is still on life support and will be until tomorrow according to the Doctor. My wife and his wife are with him right now and they just told me that the nurse stopped the sedatives long enough for them to communicate with him and he hugged them both and was very responsive. He made a 1 and a zero and zero indicating that he felt 100% beter when they asked him how he felt.
I am certain that all the prayers from you guys and many others have helped bring him this far along. Without that guiding hand, the Doctor wouldn't know what to do. Thanks a ton and I will try to post his progress when I can.

Anyone have news?

Ithought I would give you the latest news about how Chris is doing. He is still in ICU and is showing some signs of improvement. He has been on 100% life support since Sunday morning, with some attempts on Tuesday to reduce the oxygen levels but they failed until yesterday. Yesterday morning, his blood work showed increased levels of oxygen in his blood so they dropped it down to 70% life support. this morning, he has been reduced to 50% oxygen and is responding well. He is still sedated and will be until they can take him off of life support, and that is probably best to do. He appears to be responding to the steroids and antibiotics and it appears that they are killing the bacteria that is causing the pneumonia.
They will probably get more images of his lungs this morning to see if they are clearing. He is not out of the woods yet but I think he can see the clearing. His nurse told us that the recovery process is long and difficult and to not expect him to be himself for a while yet but I am pretty sure that light at the end of the tunnel is the result of many prayers for him and my thanks go out to all that have kept him in their prayers. My special thanks go to my God and Saviour for his special touch to Chris and in guiding the hand of his Doctor and Staff. I do believe a real miracle has been performed.
Thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers.

UPDATE:
Chris is making progress. Per his doctor, he is made considerable progress but isn't quite out of the woods yet. the infection has pretty much stopped spreading, and his right lung is clear but the left is not, and the reason for that is a blood clot in the lower lobe of his left lung. They are treating for that now and are keeping a watchful eye on him for any signs of movement of the clot. Not sure how they do that but I am glad tey do.
At this point, the doctor feels that he will be fine after about 6 months of breathing rehab. And the really good news is that his last blood test showed enough oxygen in his blood that they will wean him from the ventilator tomorrow morning.
Thanks to all of you for your prayers, I know that they helped and I am truly grateful.

Well the greatest news of all, Chris is out of the hospital and is on a road to recovery. He has to go to some kind of rehabilitation for breathing, and he has to go to physical therapy but he is out of danger now. He is on more medications than I have ever seen for one person, but they won't be for long that is for sure.
My thanks to all for the prayers, concerns and thoughts. May God bless each of you !
the stress alone for the past couple of weeks made my hair turn gray....imagine that!! ;)
