As many of the Pals' know I am not a big fan of orvis. Amongst reasons: they went to china and their lines started falling apart, blew up two orvis mid-arbor reels, broke a 9' 4wt and they said. "Well I am sorry we do not carry that rod anymore, here is a 8'6"." Lastly, the orvis rep at the time told me what I was fishing was inferior to his rod and I would never get the same enjoyment out of fishing throwing a TFO rod. Really, I said, I banged out 105' of line and laughed and said I can do the same thing with a TICRX and save a $600.00 bones. I'm out.
Well, like all fisherman I had to return the same 4wt that started the downward spiral 6 years ago. As expected I started getting the run around. I called the Grumpster and he made some calls. Long story short, the regional rep called me asked me what wt and length I wanted and had it in the mail the next business day.
The takeaway from this is: There is a reason why the guy is a regional...Customer Service. Secondly, it reminds me of why I shop at local establishments.
Ronnie-thanks for your help,
Pal;

Great story.
I recently had a great experience with Orvis and hope it continues that way.

I have nothing but good things to say about Orvis and the reps that I dealt with while I was on the guide program. Grumpy and Leo also were a huge help to me in that time and Orvis always came through on time....
