Title: Pelican frenzy
Post by: mnfisher on September 18, 2012, 07:24:23 PM
I was on Anna Maria Island in Florida a few weekends ago and the pelicans were crashing some shiners like crazy.  Took a bunch of shots, and here is my favorite!

Awesome. I'm never close enough when the Osprey dive even with a 400 + 1.4.

Thank you!  Yeah, I was definitely at the right place at the right time.  The baitfish were right at the edge of the pier, this was only shot at 200mm!

Wow. Nice shot!  You must of been shooting pretty fast to get that action shot so clear.

Thanks!  It was shot at 1/4000 sec.  That's the fastest my camera shoots.

great shot, when the peligans are diving, there is fish underneath pushing them up.  Most likely snook or macril if you were on the beach.  Either way, it is not always about the fishing.  Like I said in the beginning, great shot.
