I'd like to shove my hands down that dude's throat and drag him around for a minute or two by his lungs.  Let's see how he likes it.

Not sure he had much choice.

You know when I saw that on TV last night I had about the same reaction Sam.

What did Forest Gumps' mother  say? Stupid is as stupid does...and what that guy did was pretty darn stupid imo.

I would like to hold him by his feet with a palolo worm hanging from his mouth over some 200 pounders.

Jay got his knuckles and forearm skinned up while handfeeding those beasts at Robbie's.  I've just confirmed I'll be making that drive down the bridges this May to my best friend's wedding in Key West.  Tarpon will be chased!

No Palolo worms will be dipped.

Travis, I hear there's plenty of worms to be dipped in Key West. Hence the reason we stayed in Big Pine!

Holler if you need someone to help drive...

Ironically just last weekend I reserved a house on the water in the Cudjoe Key area for a couple of weeks in May.....the silver fish are definitely on my agenda for that trip.

My old boss went down there for a conference one year and gave us the web address of a cam at the bar near his hotel. He had never been before so he told us to keep watch and the morning after arrival he'd wave to us via webcam.  We got in the office that morning fired up the computer and went to that site only to find two dudes in a full on makeout session.

We never let him live that down...especially since one had graying hair like him.

What an azzhat.  That guy knew exactly what he was doing.  He grabs that tarpon by the mouth and runs his left arm right through the gills.  Let me punch my fist through your lungs and see how you like it.

Honestly that video pissed me off less than those stupid "tarpon tournament" shows on t.v. where fifty boats sit rail-to-rail jigging until someone snags a fish and tows it all over god's green earth for a weigh-in.  Nothing better that killing a bunch of fish so that ESPN can sell some sponsorship ads.

Yeah, I find it ironic that anglers aren't even allowed to raise a mature tarpon out of the water, but the slaughter of that bullshit tournament to spawning fish gets bogus, hyped, big money sponsorship.

It's starting to get the negative press it deserves.  Hopefully " Save the Tarpon" will get this thing outlawed.  (At least ban the beachside fish tow)

Kind of sounds like fishing in the fall on the Caney with out ESPN.

Just Sayin,

Pal

ps---I am not apposed to fall fishing, spring fishing, or even summer fishing on the beach (all spawning periods for different species of fish).  The tarpon migration through Boca Grande, yea---if I were down there I would fish that too. However, it would be north, outside the jetty of coarse where there is a sharp sand bar that tends to expose dark backs and flashy bodies.
Come to think of it, I need to head to the Potomac river, I heard catching skippies on 5wt spey is exhilarating... I am going once I get my orvis jacket.  tight line and short strips
