Chinese saddle hackle for the most part. Also some high dollar stuff when extra length is needed.

Those darn hair stylists looted the market, and are probably still hoarding them.  This feller above my post is  probably still tying them in teeny boppers' hair.
Eh-hem!  >:(
Yeah you, Yoda..cough em up!

Pretty hard to find... A few shops will carry some scraggly, low grade saddles, if you can find good ones--they are rare and still expensive.  Chinese saddle hackles work pretty fair, but you have to empty the rack to find good hackles that are long and swimmy.
I had the opportunity to meet Brad Bohen recently, and myself and other musky nuts swarmed through feathers, buying them up like crackheads in the Memphis projects.
If Brad ever gets his "Primo Tail" company up and running, he has some top quality materials.

I've been creating some neat Creatures with these:

I'm gonna start a new baby feather wig trend, then strip my flies and sell the feathers for a fortune.

Just for the record, I have never tied a feather in any ones hair! I cater to clientele with a LOT of money, and they don't wear feathers ;-) Brads feathers look great, but DANG!!!$$$$$$$$$$$

Yea Brad has some nice product but he needs to get on the ball or quit self promoting his stuff ! Yea I went there ! I mean he post all over about his primo crap and then when you ask about buying it you get some run around bull. I have messaged him several times with no return answers at all.

I messaged him on FB, he replied and told me to let him know what I needed and he would get back to me. Guess we shall see.

Yoda- I'm going to order some of those as well, they look awesome.

Yeah, same experience here.
