Very nice!
-
Thanks!
I got lucky to be part of this shot. The young Hawk was so hungry that he didn't mind my presence at all. That's the closest I've been to a wild RTH and it was very cool!

Could you tell what the RTH was eating?
-
Wabbit.
-
Ur lucky he didn't make soup out of u! That sucker looks mean!
-
Yea I was pretty unsure how he was going to react to me and yes I was nervous. Cant get the shot if you're scared,, and that's why I don't have some really close up Black Bear shots! :o
This huge Redtail Hawk stopped today by to check things out. There was too much brush and air between us to get a good capture. Still cool to watch him watching me.

Some gorgeous shots Mike. I have an owl in the neighborhood, just trying to figure out where he lives, seen him in the same tree multiple times, a big fella, once I narrow it down, I will let you know.
Couldn't agree more on the Bluejays.
-
If you see him more then once in daylight let me know. I have ways to get them to come to me.
-
I saw him twice last week in the same tree when I get home @ 5:10. I will look tonight.
-
I think that the ducks you were not sure about are blue wing teal. Thanks for the beautiful pictures. The pictures take me away from my gloomy mood this time of the year.
-
Mike - you take some real nice pictures, thanks for sharing! It's a real pleasant break from meetings and emails...
Dave
-
I think your right they are BWT's.
Thanks for the compliments! It's one of the things that makes life better IMO. It's alot like fishing. Some of these guys are hard to get close to so it is challenging. I get to be in the outdoors being part of the natural world. At the end of the day if I did everything right I get a good picture of my trophy.

Love the Turkey shot.
-
I agree with Steve 100%. You going to try to hit the warbler migration? They should be starting to come through any day now...
-
Mike, was just perusing your photos on Flickr, love the bat pictures. Capture those around here?
-
Thanks!
Dave, yea I'd love to chase them around some.
Steve, yes I got them in Musky country.

A Tree Swallow. You don't see these guys sitting still outside the nest that often. The depth of field on the 300 2.8 up close is razor thin. I've gota start remembering that.... The Eye looks good though. ;D

Awesome sunset in Cades Cove. I hiked alot of miles off trail in the Cove last weekend. Learned alot about the wildlife that inhabit the place. I also met a photog that I'll call the Bear man of Cades Cove. We hit it off right off the bat. I think its safe to say we'll be doing some Bear trips in the coming months. Should be exciting!

I can't believe the colors on those turkeys.
-
Mike,
You pictures are true gift to behold!
-
Growing up, we used to see meadowlarks everywhere. Now they seem to be few and far between.
My best bird sighting this winter was a crested kinglet.
Nice seeing your images.
-
Finally remembered to look at these with real internet, good stuff Mike!
-
Thanks you guys!
-
I like saying "tufted titmouse"!

Gray Vireo (I think)
We were trying to hide on a ridge overlooking two valleys in the park when this guy discovered us. He might be tiny but he's got a set of lungs!

Keep an eye out for white throated sparrows....... they are in the Nashville area.
-
So that owl I spotted, he has been in hiding. I will keep monitoring.
I have had a red tail hawk hanging out between my house and my neighbors, but he doesn't stick around long enough for me to get my camera out.
