Streamer Fly lines

Some of these integrated fly lines are just falling apart now. I won't mention any names but the one in question is from a big name and a go to line for streamer fishing... I've had several lately that just simply can't take the use. They separate almost right outa the box.  I mean a streamer line is going to be used and abused but these just aren't holding up past the first month! Mono core lines are the best casting and feeling integrated lines I've found, but for longevity,,, they just really suck. And at $80 a pop that's not cool. The intermediate mono core lines are even are worse than the tungsten.

I wish someone would make a truly great mono core integrated line that's not sticky when hot and doesn't separate from the core. . Until then I'll use my sticky coldwater lines and 30 pound mono running lines with outbound heads.
Maybe I just need to stop catching such big fish.  ;D

Have you tried the SA Sonar Int/S3/S5 line? I have it in a 10. I've been impressed, but I've mostly been fishing early/late and haven't seen how it reacts to a hot deck. It is textured and will cut you. Big flies/fish haven't been a problem.

I like the old wet tip express (now the sonar 25) in small/still water,  but it hinges on the retrieve in big, moving water. The Sonar 30 is better, but it will get gummy. I fished it all winter; it's going back in the gear closet till fall. Horses for courses, but none are anywhere near perfect.

I'm intrigued by Wulff's new integrated sinking line.

I are with you that old wet tip lines are indestructible but not ideal for what I'm doing. 
After going back to mono running line and rio T14 this week I'm wondering why I even strayed. So much easier on the elbow and shoulder. Yea the thin dia running line can be harder to set on a fish but that's about the only disadvantage. We'll wind can present a problem but that's the case with most lines anyway. I'm used to the knots going through the rod.

I'm loving every Airflo---non PVC line I've bought so far.  Haven't forked out money for one of their sinking lines yet, but so far, their products are superior to 3M and Rio.

stripping basket with a couple inches of water in it, and that mono will behave just fine... plus it eliminates the wind blowing line off the deck without toe rails.
